School Safety Update from Dr. Kaiser | Updated March 31st
Dear Monroe Families,
I hope everyone is having a great Friday. I wanted to send you all some information about a few new procedures that we will be utilizing going into the last few weeks of school. Starting on Monday April 3rd, Monroe Demonstration Academy will be wanding all students who are entering the building and we will be doing brief bag searches to ensure the safety of our scholars, staff and school.
As the principal and a father of two little ones, I will always strive to do all we can do here at school to keep all of our students and staff safe and will do everything I can to ensure the safety of your students just as I would my own children. While this extra security measure may cause a delay in students entering the building we believe that this will help to ensure the safety and security of our building and our students. These procedures will be almost identical to the procedures at our high school, McLain High School.
This process will begin on Monday April 3rd, and we will be holding a 6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade assemblies on Monday to talk more about these procedures and the importance of ensuring school wide safety throughout the remainder of the year.
Please know that our staff is committed to keeping everyone as safe as possible and this new procedure will only serve to reinforce this. Please talk with your students this weekend as we will begin this procedure on Monday. Please let me know if you have any questions at all.
Thank you,
Dr. Robert Kaiser Ed.D | Principal Monroe Demonstration Academy
